South Michigan Food Bank at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church

The South Michigan Food Bank is dedicated to fighting hunger and strengthening communities across eight counties in southern Michigan. They collect, store, and distribute millions of pounds of fresh produce, pantry staples, and prepared meals each year, partnering with over 300 agencies, including food pantries, schools, and shelters. Their work ensures that families, seniors, and individuals facing food insecurity have reliable access to nutritious meals. Volunteers help sort, pack, and distribute food to ensure no one in our community goes without. Our consumers develop key workplace skills like teamwork, time management, attention to detail, communication, and leadership when volunteering with the food bank.
