Binder Park Zoo

Through our partnership with Binder Park Zoo, Alternative Choices participants have the opportunity to volunteer in a fun and dynamic environment while building important job skills. Volunteers assist with cleaning and maintaining the zoo grounds, helping create a safe and beautiful space for visitors and animals alike. They also help set up for special events, gaining experience in event preparation, teamwork, organization, and time management. These responsibilities help participants develop real-world skills that employers value, such as reliability, attention to detail, working under deadlines, and following directions. Volunteering at Binder Park Zoo not only supports the zoo’s mission but also helps individuals grow their confidence, strengthen their resumes, and prepare for future employment opportunities across many industries.
